I can appreciate people, respectfully, having different opinions about whether to embrace investment and essentially facilitate private ownership of the club. Since then, the key development has been the changing attitude of the chairperson, and some others at Board level, towards the TIG investment proposal. There is no other club in the north with the potential to grow and develop as a footballing powerhouse. The crisis of confidence in the leadership of the club has been fuelled by what can only be described as a disdainful attitude exhibited by the chairperson, in particular, to club members. As a nominee to a special sub-committee set up as part of the TIG negotiations by the club membership, he sat on the Cliftonville Board from September 2025 to January 2026.
