This ICE OUT legislation includes bills targeted to achieve several goals:This legislation prevents ICE agents from hiding their identities with masks and unmarked vehicles. The legislation prohibits the city from collaborations with ICE on data and bans 287(g) agreements which allow police to act as ICE agents. and Philadelphia City Council Majority Leader Katherine Gilmore Richardson (D - At-Large) both released statements in support of the bills package. Lozada noted that City Council must protect the community by placing clear boundaries between local government and federal immigration enforcement. The bills package will move to council committees for discussion before it could be voted on by City Council.
