Bisan Owda, who has won an Emmy, a Peabody and an Edward R Murrow award, told social media followers she had been kicked off the platform, amid speculation it is cracking down on pro-Palestine content. TikTok has said that her account appears to still be live however it is understood that access can vary geographically. It comes after TikTok completed a deal to establish a new, separate version of the short-form video platform in the US. In a video posted to Twitter/X and Instagram, Owda said: “TikTok deleted my account. A TikTok spokesperson told The National that the account was live and operating normally but had been temporarily restricted in September because it raised red flags for potential impersonation.
