Tom Day spent many years volunteering to clear the streets of Frankley and was known as a 'friendly face' in the community. The New Frankley Parish Council announced the news via their social media expressing their sadness. They said: "It is with great sadness we wish to inform you of the passing of Tom Day, former parish councillor and volunteer. "Tom spent many years volunteering in Frankley, clearing the streets of fly tipping in the truck, litter picking, helping the Parish Office and serving as a Parish Councillor, always a friendly face out in the Community. The social media post was flooded with comments with one person saying: "Thank you for all that you have done for our community."
