WHBC and Oak Hill Crematorium handed the money to Isabel Hospice. The donation was part of a scheme set up by the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management (ICCM), allowing crematoriums to recycle metals after the cremation process. At the time, Claire Melinte, community and events fundraiser at Isabel Hospice, expressed her astonishment at the generous donation. She said: "We were astonished to receive the call about the £14,000 donation from Oak Hill Crematorium. Melinte added, "We are very grateful to WHBC, Oak Hill Crematorium and the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management for their generosity and support.
