Teenager arrested after cyclist hospitalised in 'serious' Bury crash

Emergency services were called to Wellington Road on Thursday afternoon (January 29) after reports of a crash between a car and a bike.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after allegedly failing to stop following the crash.
The force also confirmed a cyclist was taken to hospital with injuries that aren't life-threatening or life-changing.
A GMP spokesperson said: "A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop following a road traffic collision on Wellington Road in Bury this afternoon (Thursday, January 29, 2026).
The arrest was made after a car collided with a cyclist, who was taken to hospital for treatment on injuries that are not life-threatening or life-changing."
