More than 1,000 jobs are at risk with The Original Factory Shop's 140 shops throughout the UK under threat. Modella Capital, which owns the chain, said its 137 shops will continue to trade as normal as the administrators assess options, but the company's online shop is closing with immediate effect. Rick Harrison, managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, said: "The Original Factory Shop has long been a cornerstone of local high streets up and down the country. "Unfortunately, however, trading challenges have impacted the business such that the company had to be placed into administration." The Original Factory shop currently has stores in Dalry, Stewarton, Galston, Troon and Ayr.
