In response, I brought together a series of rural crime summits with national and local police leaders, police and crime commissioners, including our excellent PCC Donna Jones, and neighbouring MPs. Share intelligence, coordinate our response, and take decisive action against criminals who prey on our countryside. We met again a few days ago to review the latest intelligence and assess progress. That is why I have described it as "rural terrorism". If you target our countryside and the people who live and work in it, there will be serious consequences.
