The objection lodged against the application from Club 55, above Ziggy’s in Micklegate, stated the incident illustrated the often alcohol-fuelled behaviour which took place outside the venue. A City of York Council report on Club 55’s application stated there were no legal reasons compelling refusal and approving it would keep the amount of venues at the locally-set limit of one. It comes as the venue’s application to renew its sex establishment licence is set to go before the council’s Licensing and Regulatory Committee on Thursday, February 5.
