Strolling down Hindpool Road in the 1990s
['Tom Cockburn']
The Mail | News
The long thoroughfare of Hindpool Road was, a hundred years and more previously, the heart of Barrow’s industrial belt and vital to the growing town of Barrow.
To the south, Hindpool Road ended by the High-Level bridge over to Barrow Island.
At the north end of Hindpool Road was the Jute works.
On the other side of the road lower down from the Jute works on the corner of Abbey Road was the cream-painted building carrying the label ‘Custom House’.
The other place of worship in Hindpool Road was now a night club.
