The probe concerns a sexual assault incident that took place on the Elizabeth Line service on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Police described how just after 8am, a man boarded the train at Maidenhead and "approached a woman". The man sexually assaulted the woman multiple times throughout the train journey and was seen touching himself inappropriately before leaving the train at West Drayton. According to British Transport Police, detectives believe the man in the image they have released "may have information" that could help the investigation. The man in the image is also believed to have information relating to two similar incidents, one on an Elizabeth Line train from Slough to West Drayton railway station on Tuesday, November 18, and one at Slough railway station on Friday, July 25.
