Merseyside Police said that several minutes later the second man stood up and dragged the man in his 50s to the floor then punched him repeatedly. The suspect then left the pub with his partner and was last seen on Whitechapel. Detective Inspector Paula Jones said: "This was a nasty and reckless attack which has left the victim with serious injuries, and he was left unconscious from this unprovoked assault. "I am also appealing to the man featured in the images, or anyone who recognises him to contact us.
