Anthony Alcock and his partner of 15 years were at home on the evening of August 17, prosecutor Emily Bennett told Cardiff Crown Court. The defendant then threw a glass of water over his partner, before refilling the drink and throwing the glass at her – which missed. Alcock pushed his partner against a wall and pinned her with both hands around her neck. His partner attempted to lock the door behind him, but Alcock barged his way back in and headbutted her in the nose. “He needs help to address his emotional management.”Sentencing Alcock, Judge Paul Thomas KC said: “It was a terrifying ordeal for her.
