Substantial fire damage was caused to a house in Croft on Monday night, as well as to a nearby car in a separate fire but linked incident. Arson is suspected, with the occupants and their family left shaken up by the shocking, horrific, and unprovoked incident. A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called to a report of a car fire in Warrington. A fire service spokesman commented: “Water backpacks were used to extinguish a small fire in the open. “This is believed to have been lit deliberately.”It is not yet known whether the Croft and Culcheth incidents are linked.
