Easyjet has warned ‘lunatic’ EU plans to let passengers bring luggage on board for free will cause delays and raise prices.
The European Parliament wants to allow a laptop bag and a piece of hand luggage on board but Easyjet boss Kenton Jarvis said it would cause chaos as planes do not have the room.
He said Easyjet can accommodate cabin bags for around two-thirds of passengers.
‘There just isn’t the space in the cabin, so that’s another lunatic idea.
But while winter is typically a weak period, Easyjet said summer bookings were strong.
