The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) blocked 1,875 mobile numbers involved in fraudulent activities during the fiscal year 2024–25, according to an official PTA document. The enforcement action was carried out through the authority’s Fraud Management Module as part of efforts to counter telecom fraud, prevent misuse of mobile services, and protect consumers across the country. During the same period, PTA blocked 1,604 mobile handsets by their IMEIs. Launched in February 2021, the Fraud Management Module has evolved into a mature and widely used framework. This averages 42,680 calls per month, providing assistance related to telecom services, DIRBS, device blocking, and unlawful content issues.
