Posting on the Orkney Livestock Association (OLA) Facebook page, Karen Johnston, who was employed by Biobest, said she was 'absolutely devastated' by the news. “Biobest has done all the testing for OLA members since 2005, giving Orkney members dual membership of OLA and the national certified health scheme HiHealth Herdcare. She added that HiHealth Herdcare and OLA members would have the option to transfer their cattle health scheme membership to SRUC’s Premium Cattle Health Scheme (PCHS). Health scheme members will be contacted directly, with the company working to ensure a smooth transition to alternative providers. Biobest has been operating since 1995 and said the decision to close had not been taken lightly.
