Mariusz Formejster, of Newquay Drive in Wrexham, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old admitted one offence of drug-driving, which took place on October 25 last year in Wrexham Road, Rhostyllen.
Grace Carson, prosecuting, told the court that officers initially noted the defendant's vehicle because one of his front headlights was out.
Charlotte Cooper told the court the defendant had no previous convictions.
District Judge Gwyn Jones told Formejster: "At present you're employed full time, working in a location away from Wrexham.
