The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, has been taken to hospital by road ambulance for treatment after the crash, on West Quay Road just before 1.30pm. The air ambulance was called and the man was treated by the critical care team. West Quay Road remains closed eastbound, heading into the city, between Harbour Parade and Ikea. A spokesperson for Hampshire police confirmed that no arrests have been made and added: "The pedestrian – a 40-year-old man – has sustained life-threatening injuries and has been taken to hospital for treatment." A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance said: "The Critical Care Team provided treatment to a patient before escorting them to hospital via road ambulance for further treatment."
