Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water has announced a 4.8 per cent increase in household bills for 2026-2027, raising the average annual cost from £652 to £683. The company says the increase, which will keep the average bill under £2 per day, will help deliver 'world-class water services.' Roch Cheroux, chief executive of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, said: "As I start my new role at Welsh Water my focus is firmly on aiming at delivering world-class water services for our customers and their communities. "The current system allows water companies to raise prices while customers see little improvement and our rivers continue to suffer." Welsh Water, which serves around three million people in Wales, Herefordshire, and parts of Deeside, operates more than 36,500km of sewers, 834 wastewater treatment works, more than 27,500km of water mains, and 92 reservoirs.
