The Welsh Ministers plan to implement temporary restrictions on the A40 between Raglan and Hardwick roundabouts. Cyclists will also be barred from using this section of the road, and only emergency services and work-related vehicles will be allowed access. The closures are set to operate intermittently and are likely to be in force on weekdays as required. The alternative route for non-motorway westbound vehicles will be via the eastbound A40 from Raglan Roundabout to Raglan Interchange, the southbound A449 to Coldra Interchange, westbound A48 Newport Southern Distributor Road to Old Town Dock Junction, then to Grove Park Roundabout and follow the northbound A4042 to Hardwick Roundabout: vice versa for eastbound vehicles. Notice of any changes to times and dates will be displayed before any rescheduled work begins.
