Peckham Rye is set for a significant upgrade aimed at improving passenger experience and supporting Peckham’s regeneration.
The improvements will complement Southwark Council’s plans for a new public square, Peckham Rye Station Square, helping to connect the station with the surrounding area and enhance the overall environment for commuters and residents alike.
Lord Hendy, rail minister, said: "I'm pleased that nearly £4m of Government funding is being invested to make journeys through Peckham Rye simpler and more convenient for passengers.
"Over the coming months, commuters will see real improvements to their daily travel, supporting Peckham’s future and benefitting the wider local community."
Cllr Dennis said: "The new £5m investment into Peckham Rye Station will be transformational in delivering major improvements to the station and making it a better place for residents and commuters.
