According to the PHS data, during the week ending January 4, 502 people attended Inverclyde’s A&E department in total, with 339 treated within four hours. A total of 163 had to wait more than four hours to be seen, 72 waited more than eight hours, and 33 waited more than 12. For that week, 37 people had a wait of more than eight hours, and six were waiting for more than 12. "In the most recent week (week ending January 18), performance at the IRH improved with 71.9 per cent of patients seen within four hours, compared with a Scotland-wide average of 62.1 per cent, and only 1.1 per cent waiting longer than 12 hours. "Like all other NHS Boards, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde continues to see high numbers of patients across our A&E departments.
