Thames Valley Police (TVP) officers are at Cowley Road and its surrounding streets this afternoon (Thursday, January 29), with a man on a roof near the junction with Crown Street. As many as eight police cars and a fire engine are at the scene with police officers on the major road, as well as St Mary's Road and Crown Street. A Thames Valley Police spokesperson said: “Officers are currently at the scene of a concern for safety incident in Oxford. “No one has been injured and officers are engaging with a man on Cowley Road. “There is no threat to the wider public but we ask that the public please avoid the area if possible at this time.”
