Until then, the issue will go down as an interesting highlight of the first session for Grand Forks’ newest lawmaker.
Grand Forks lawmakers who voted for House Bill 1624 were Sen. Jeff Barta, Rep. Landon Bahl, Rep. Mark Sanford, Rep. Zac Ista and McNally.
Voting against HB 1624 were Sen. Claire Cory, Sen. Scott Meyer, Sen. Jonathan Sickler, Rep. Nels Christianson, Rep. Eric Murphy, Rep. Doug Osowski and Rep. Steve Vetter.
HB 1627 failed in the House, McNally said, because representatives were more in favor of sending HB 1624 forward to the Senate instead.
The Legislature passed nine bills and one resolution during the special session, most of them related to rural health care.
