Wimpy, on the corner of High Street and New Conduit Street, did not open for business on Wednesday. It comes after the restaurant was hit with a repossession notice by the landlord of the building. A spokeswoman for Wimpy said the chain is unable to comment on the repossession notice "due to ongoing legal proceedings". "We are sorry to confirm that our Wimpy Kings Lynn restaurant is currently closed and would like to apologise to our many Wimpy fans in the town," she added. But the eye-catching restaurant closed during the chain's 50th birthday year in 2004, when it was bulldozed to make way for the new shopping centre.
