Temporary traffic signals and lane narrowing will hit Cathedral Street at North Frederick Street following a collapsed manhole. Urgent repairs are scheduled at the junction from 8pm Thursday 29 January 2026 until 12pm Saturday 31 January 2026. The works will involve temporary traffic lights and reduced lane widths, and are expected to cause delays in the area. Motorists are being advised to seek alternative routes where possible during the repair period. A Glasgow City Counil spokesperson said: "To allow for urgent repairs to a collapsed manhole, temporary Traffic Signals with lane narrowing will be in operation at the junction of Cathedral Street at North Frederick Street from 20:00hrs Thursday 29 January 2026 until 12:00hrs Saturday 31 January 2026Road users should expect delays and are advised to seek an alternative route if possible."
