Emergency services were called to reports of a vehicle fire on Springfield Road in Glasgow in the early hours of Thursday. One fire engine attended to tackle the blaze after the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at around 4.26am on Thursday, January 29, 2026. A witness reported to the Glasgow Times that they called the fire services, and police presence had to close off the road. A spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.26am on Thursday, January 29 to reports of a vehicle fire in Glasgow. “Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the city’s Springfield Road, where firefighters extinguished the fire before leaving the scene.
