HENRIETTA, N.Y. — The town of Henrietta has been working to clear roads of snow and ice, but its road salt supply is running low. Henrietta Superintendent of Highways Craig Barber said the town received only half of a recent salt shipment. Last year, Henrietta and other towns faced similar issues with salt supply, leading to conservation measures. “Hopefully, keep our fingers crossed, we don’t get that low.”Henrietta is on track to use around 7,000 tons of road salt for the second consecutive year, compared to about 6,000 tons in previous years. A spokesperson for the city of Rochester said it has enough road salt for the winter, typically using 20,000 tons annually.
