ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A Yellow Alert continues Thursday night right through Friday for two issues: Lake effect snow and bitter cold air. Starting with the cold: air temperatures will drop to near zero away from Lake Ontario, and below zero south of the Thruway Friday morning. As for the lake effect snow – it will continue in some variety right through the day Saturday. Friday will see most of the snow shifting slightly northward, focusing on Route 104, points north and Wayne County. The Thruway toward Route 104 with a 3-6″ accumulation, and north of 104 and Wayne County seeing 6-10″.
