Officers were called to Middles Road in Stanley at 5.10pm on Tuesday (January 27) after the incident. Durham Police say the woman was able to flee the scene in her car, a blue Citroen C3, but had injuries to her face. A man was later arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.
