Hartlepool-based Changing Futures North East helps children in care, from Teesside to the Tyne and Wear area, find suitable homes.
The organisation need more 'super sub' carers (Image: CHANGING FUTURES)"That's why we have short-break carers who can step in and offer foster families a chance to reboot and re-energise, or to have some 'them' time simply.
"In traditional families, it is often the grandparents or aunts and uncles who can do this, so we are urgently seeking people who can play that same role for foster families.
People like Clare Turner, a full-time foster carer for Changing Futures, who also provides short-break care.
“Without them, many foster families simply couldn’t continue,” she admits.
