MINNEAPOLIS — A company called Gold Star Distribution is recalling a number of U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulated products due to potential rodent and avian contamination. The Gold Star Distribution recall announcement, which can be found on the FDA website, includes a list of businesses where the company says recalled products possibly were distributed to and the list includes Fargo Halal Market at 855 45th St. S. in Fargo. ADVERTISEMENTDahir Shire, who operates Fargo Halal Market, said his last order involving Gold Star Distribution was in October 2025 and he said the shop has not placed any orders with Gold Star since then. According to the recall, persons handling or consuming affected products could become seriously ill due to adulteration from pests, including rodents, birds and insects.
