TRUMP: With the Rural Health Transformation Program, we are getting rural communities the health support they need, and we're getting it immediately. CHAKRABARTI: While the One Big Beautiful Bill Act included this $50 billion investment in rural healthcare, that same budget bill also included cuts to rural healthcare. There were some members of Congress, particularly from rural states or rural congressional districts, that were key votes for this legislation. Now, there's certainly many ways in which these funds could benefit rural hospitals, states could use these funds to invest in the infrastructure of rural hospitals within certain limits. They could, again, use these funds to support regional collaborations between rural hospitals and other providers that could help rural hospitals operate more efficiently and bring down their costs.
