It’s the end of a long era in Westhampton Beach. After 115 years, Eckart’s Luncheonette is preparing to serve its final meal on Feb. 17. “It’s sad,” Danielle Eckart told Greater Long Island. “I used to hang out with my friends, make them milkshakes, and sit in the phone booth talking on the phone.” After 115 years, Eckart’s Luncheonette is preparing to serve its final meal at 162 Mill Rd. During Prohibition in the 1920s, it pivoted into Eckart’s Soda Shoppe before eventually evolving into the luncheonette longtime patrons know today.
