Paul Anderson, of no fixed address, was issued with the order from Wigan Borough Council. Failure to comply with the court order will result in Anderson being in contempt of court, which can lead to a fine or prison sentence. The 12-month injunction, made under Section 1 of the Anti‑social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, was approved at the Wigan County Court last week and has come into effect immediately. It follows repeated incidents of anti-social behaviour in the Leigh town centre area. Leigh town centre is subject to a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), which gives local authorities and community safety partners more powers to address anti-social behaviour and similar criminal activity.
