Man hospitalized after being hit by pickup truck while in roadway on Route 176 in Crystal Lake

A 34-year-old man was hospitalized after being left semi-conscious after he was struck by a pickup truck while in the roadway along Route 176 in Crystal Lake.
The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department and Crystal Lake Police Department responded around 3:18 p.m. last Thursday to the area of Route 176 and Ridge Avenue in Crystal Lake for a report of a vehicle crash with injuries.
Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Richard Neumann said an investigation showed a Ford pickup truck was traveling westbound on Route 176 near Ridge Avenue.
Officers shut down Route 176 near Ridge Avenue for approximately an hour while they conducted an investigation, police officials said.
Neumann said there have been no citations issued and the case remains under investigation by the Crystal Lake Police Department.
