(ABC 6 News) – The Mason City Fire Department responded to a fire at an apartment complex on Wednesday night. MCFD says crews responded to a fire alarm at Shalom Tower II at 7:53 p.m. on January 28th. They were advised that the fire was coming from the trash chute, and found a smoldering dumpster in the first floor storage room. Sprinklers already put out the fire, and crews ventilated the 6th and 7th floors where smoke had started to build up. Mason City Police and Shalom Tower Maintenance assisted at the scene.
