(ABC 6 News) — A Mankato man has been arrested after allegedly trying to break Luigi Mangione out of jail. According to a criminal complaint, Mark Anderson, 36, falsely impersonated himself to be an FBI agent at the federal Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn, New York. The criminal complaint states Anderson approached the intake area inside the MDC at around 6:50 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesday night. He then claimed to be an FBI agent in possession of paperwork “signed by a judge” authorizing the release of a specific inmate. He was then detained, and inside the bag was a barbecue fork and a pizza cutter, according to the criminal complaint.
