A Qantas passenger flight bound for Adelaide was diverted to a South Australian army base on Thursday due to powerful winds.
QF691, which left Melbourne shortly after 5pm, was forced to make an unscheduled landing at Edinburgh RAAF Base as gusts in the region reached 72km/h.
“One of our flights from Melbourne to Adelaide has diverted to RAAF Base Edinburgh due to adverse weather on approach,” a Qantas spokesperson told The Nightly.
