Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, together with SpaceX, is already working to resolve the issue of Starlink being used on Russian unmanned aerial vehicles. According to Ukrinform, this was reported on Telegram by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov. According to him, just a few hours after Russian drones equipped with Starlink communication appeared over Ukrainian cities, the Ministry of Defense team promptly contacted SpaceX and proposed ways to address the problem. “I am grateful to SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and personally to Elon Musk for their swift response and for beginning work to resolve the situation,” Fedorov emphasized. As reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces are increasingly using U.S.-made Starlink systems on strike drones in order to overcome Ukrainian electronic warfare systems and increase the effectiveness and accuracy of their attacks.
