A 'trotro mate' has died following a tragic accident at Tech Junction in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. The incident occurred when the 'trotro mate' reportedly jumped out of a moving commercial vehicle (trotro) in an attempt to register for the next available load at the station. In the process, he is said to have slipped and fallen under the wheels of the vehicle. According to her, the 'trotro' knocked him down, and as he attempted to get back on his feet, another commercial vehicle, loading passengers behind, ran over him. “The 'mate' jumped out of the moving vehicle, and his own vehicle hit him, and while he was trying to get up, another vehicle also ran over him,” she recounted.
