An Adenta Circuit Court has sentenced a 27‑year‑old Nigerian to seven years’ imprisonment for defiling a 13‑year‑old girl at Nanakrom, near Adenta. The court presided over by Angela Attachie, at the end of the trial, found him guilty and convicted him accordingly. He had been on remand after failing to meet bail conditions granted by the court. The court said the medical report indicated that the victim’s hymen had been broken. On July 12, 2024, the complainant reported the matter to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) at Adenta.
