Luigi Mangione appears for a suppression of evidence hearing in the killing of Brian Thompson on December 1, 2025. When correctional staff asked Mr Anderson to show identification, he allegedly presented a Minnesota driver’s licence instead of federal credentials. Federal prosecutors charged Mr Anderson with impersonating a federal officer. Mr Mangione, 27, has been detained since his arrest in 2024 for allegedly murdering Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare. Mr Mangione is has pleaded not guilty to state and federal murder charges.
