Spread the wordAt least 718 personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces, drawn from the Army, Navy and Air Force, have commenced a six-month retirement transition programme at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos. The personnel comprising corporals, sergeants, warrant officers and master warrant officers were inducted into Course 1/2026, a programme designed to prepare retiring service members for life after active military service through entrepreneurship, vocational and management training. He described the Resettlement Centre as a “citadel of courage and hope,” established to prepare retiring personnel for meaningful and productive civilian life. Congratulating the participants on their selection, the Commandant noted that the retirement course was highly coveted and carefully structured to equip them with practical, entrepreneurial and self-reliance skills. He said about 85 personnel were declared medically unfit for the course, while 15 others were yet to report.
