According to the Mets' official team account on X, New York signed former Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes to a minor-league deal on Thursday. He went 8-for-25 (.320) with a home run in the 2020 postseason, which came in Game 3 of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
