OLATHE — Steven Paul ‘Steve’ Petty, 76, passed away Jan. 11, 2026, at Azria Health Olathe, Kan. He was born on Feb. 12, 1949, in Emporia, Kan., to Lindell B. and Katharine (Marbourg) Petty. On Nov. 28, 1986, he married Marilyn Bailey at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend. A recent resident of Olathe coming from Great Bend, Steve was a physical education teacher for USD 428, as well as a coach and high school counselor.
