A Grand Rapids board approved $2 million in incentives Wednesday to help finance a developer’s $12.3 million rental townhome project on the city’s northeast side. Ryan Wheeler, president of Wheeler Development Group, said this project is similar to another Grand Rapids townhomes project the firm completed in 2020, Michigan Meadows, which has proved to be a popular destination for families. Grand Rapids-based Create 3 Architecture is designing the project, and Moore & Bruggink, also based in Grand Rapids, is the civil engineer. Wheeler Development Group’s construction management arm, WDG Construction, will be the general contractor, and its brokerage and leasing division, Pure Real Estate Management, will manage the property when it is completed.
