Tasty Takeout: Indianapolis’ Kountry Kitchen serves up soul food favoritesINDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Kountry Kitchen in Indianapolis serves scratch-made soul food favorites ranging from traditional meatloaf to specialty dishes such as oxtail and grits.
Owners Cynthia Wright Wilson with Pat Vandoren describe the restaurant’s menu as comfort food reminiscent of a Sunday meal at a grandmother’s house.
While shrimp and grits is a common dish, Kountry Kitchen also offers oxtail and grits and catfish and grits.
“It’s not spicy, but it has such a good flavor.”In addition to specialty grits, the menu includes classic comfort foods such as meatloaf, fried and baked chicken, pinto beans, black-eyed peas, macaroni and cheese, and cabbage.
Kountry Kitchen offers indoor dining, outdoor seating and private rooms for special events.
