MAYFIELD, N.Y. (WNYT) – Mayfield is distributing bottled water to residents as the village continues to deal with the effects of a water main break. The village is without water service, which officials attribute to aging infrastructure. The original water main break was repaired, but another break happened while repairs were going on. We at least have some drinking water for our employees and some water we can wipe things down with and keep everything sanitized,” Conte said. According to the village’s water commissioner, repair crews are currently installing new piping at the village pump house, where the main water breaks occurred.
